Park Place at Tuscora Park has undergone some big changes and plans to reopen May 28th, 2021 to kick off Memorial Day Weekend as the newly formed Park Place Youth Center.

After 20 years of giving teens concerts, game nights and a relaxed space to hang with friends; a new vision to bring youth to the forefront is underway with fresh new paint, flooring, wall-wrap, layout and concept.

There will be 3 sections to the Youth Center; Displays, activities & programs and merchandise.

Park Place Youth Center Programs

Educational Displays

Quarterly, we will have different concentrations that focus on educational pieces in New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County and the surrounding areas. The first two concentrations/themes will be Nature & Transportation. We are looking to partner with local non-profits, organizations and businesses that are willing to host items for 3 months at the Youth Center for attendees to enjoy. *Due to COVID-19 items may be under shields and may not be hands-on.*

Youth Center Activities

Our activities will be geared toward what concentration we currently have on display. We plan to have activities at least 3 times a week that either attendees can sign-up ahead of time or walk in and take part in the fun!
Some of the Nature activities may include creating: rain sticks, crystal flowers and ice cream cone seedlings. We plan to keep activities around 20 minutes or less.

Youth Center Programs

Our programs will also be geared toward the concentrations on display. We plan to have programs for attendees to sign-up for 2 times a week.
With our display partnerships and other organizations, we hope we can encourage them to bring a program to life here at the Youth Center that they may currently have at their own location. The programs may be 30 minutes to 1 hour in length. *Additional costs may apply for some programs.*

Hear What Our Community Partners Have to Say:

“The New Philadelphia City Schools are excited about the new opportunities for our students at the Park Place Youth Center. Our younger children will have an exciting place to connect, learn, and grow. We are also excited about the opportunities for our older students to get involved with the Park Place Youth Center through community service, teaching the younger children, and internships. The Park Place Youth Center and its partnership with New Philadelphia City Schools will expand the Quaker Experience for children of all ages within our community.”
